Do We Really Know Hospitality Terms?
We have heard a lot about accommodation when making a hotel reservation. Half board, full board, all inclusive, bed and breakfast and many more... But do we know exactly what these mean, what we can benefit from within these accommodation conditions, what is included in the said accommodation term?
First of all Bed and Breakfast (BB)The term appears. Bed and breakfast accommodation is generally preferred in city hotels and boutique hotels, not in holiday hotels. During your entire stay, only breakfast is included in the accommodation. For everything else, the hotel may charge you a service fee.
Half Board (HB)In the accommodation type, hotel establishments only include breakfast and dinner in the price. However, some hotels may include lunch instead of dinner. This type of accommodation is also an accommodation term used by business or travel hotels, not holiday hotels.
Full Board (FB) In the type of accommodation, breakfast, lunch and dinner are included in the price, and tea and small treats accompanying tea are generally included in the price throughout the day. It is a concept we can frequently encounter in hotels where we go for sightseeing, in spa or ski hotels.
All Inclusive (AI) As the name suggests, everything about eating and drinking is free and unlimited throughout the day. However, in the all-inclusive concept, it is appropriate to expect only eating and drinking. Because activities do not cover this all-inclusive concept.
Ultra All Inclusive Accommodation (Ultra All Inclusive – UAI ) The most distinctive feature that distinguishes it from All Inclusive accommodation is that you can get food and drink service at any time throughout the day, and at the same time, some activities are included in the price. Recently, Ultra All Inclusive hotels are called Deluxe hotels.
Generally speaking, if it is a city hotel, it would be more logical for hotel businesses to use bed and breakfast and half board, as customers generally come to city hotels for business visits and to tour the city in a limited time with agencies. Because such customers cannot spend too much time in the hotel.
However, when hotels in holiday resorts use the All-Inclusive or Ultra All-Inclusive accommodation concept, being able to benefit from some activities included in the fee and unlimited food and beverage service throughout the day will allow people to have a comfortable and peaceful holiday without even having to leave the hotel.
As a result, accommodation concepts are a good criterion in terms of the customer's expectations, budget and wishes from hotel services, and when he knows these accommodation concepts and makes a choice accordingly, it is one of the most important elements that will help him have a nice holiday without encountering any surprises.
