New Regulations in All Inclusive
The Mediterranean Touristic Hoteliers and Operators Association (AKTOB) has rearranged the standards in three categories in the All Inclusive System (HD), which has the most important share in tourism. The types and numbers of food and beverages in breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets have also been determined in the Standard HD, Medium HD, High HD categories.
AKTOB President Erkan Yağcı pointed out that the HD concept is a constantly talked about topic such as 'is it good or bad, is it still valid?', and said that there are criticisms such as 'HD harms tourism' and that it does not harm tourism at this point, but its content can be discussed. Erkan Yağcı stated that this study was carried out believing that something should be done to refresh the image of the HD system, and said: "We now need to sell HD at the price it deserves.
The former president of AKTOB, Yusuf Hacısüleyman, who took part in the study in which the standards in the HD system were redefined, stated that this study was principled and no one had to comply.
In the new HD system, which is divided into three quality categories as Standard HD, Medium HD and High HD in the prepared guide, at least 62 varieties for Standard HD, 112 varieties for Medium HD and 171 varieties for High HD must be served in 21 food groups for breakfast. "A total of 495 food types in three categories were determined for breakfasts.
A total of 9 types of buffets and 47 food groups were determined for the lunch buffet, such as soups, main courses, action-shows, cold, dessert, diet and children's. Accordingly, 52 types of products need to be offered for Standard HD, 101 types of products for Medium HD, and 136 types of products for High HD. "A total of 1088 food menus were determined.
