2018 was declared “Türkiye Tourism Year” in China
China determines a country as the year of tourism every year. For example, last year, in 2017, China chose Denmark as the year of tourism, while this year, in 2018, they chose Turkey as the year of tourism.
The year of tourism has officially started with the events and presentations held in Beijing. As such, the tourism facilities of our country anticipate that the presence of our guests from the Far East will be greater this year, and therefore the preparations are being made based on this criterion.
Upon this decision, a meeting was held by TÜRSAB and possible presentations, preparations and plans were decided.
In terms of hosting historical sites in the Mediterranean, Aegean, Central Anatolia, Black Sea, Eastern Anatolia and other geographical regions of Türkiye. It seems that it will be a type of tourism where they can benefit from holiday opportunities such as sea, sand and sun. Whether our Far Eastern guests want historical and cultural tourism or holiday tourism, the fact that our country is extremely rich and sufficient in terms of tourism shows that they will return to their country satisfied with this visit.
Since Far Eastern tourists generally attach importance to history and cultural tourism, intense preparations are taking place, especially in the Cappadocia-Goreme region. Even small-scale Chinese restaurant establishments are opening. They will also be introduced to Turkish Cuisine through this tourism. Perhaps our tourists can be introduced to the tastes of Turkish Cuisine that they cannot give up, even if Turkish Cuisine is not very close to their own cuisine.
Moreover, hotels in this region have already started taking reservations. We hope it will be a beneficial and significant tourism year for both countries.
