Not Russians, Nor Europeans… From Now on, These Tourists Will Flow to Turkey in Crowds

year of tourism

As a result of introducing Türkiye's cultural heritage, touristic and geographical beauties to Asian countries, there is a significant increase in tourists coming to Turkey from Asian countries.

We share many similarities with Asian countries in traditional values and social relations, and efforts over the last 2 years have produced significant results. Recorded figures show an increase of approximately 31 percent between 2016 and 2017 in tourists from China, India, South Korea, Indonesia, Japan and Malaysia, whose populations represent half the world and who enjoy travelling. Total visitors from these 6 countries increased from 494 thousand in 2016 to 650 thousand in 2017. First-quarter figures for 2018 suggest that this number will exceed 800 thousand by the end of 2018. If stability in Türkiye continues, it is expected to approach and exceed 1 million in 2020.

2018 is celebrated as the year of Türkiye in China, and 2019 will be declared the year of Türkiye in Japan.

The interesting thing is that even weddings have started to be held in our country. Recently, Antalya hosted 10 Indian weddings. The income from these weddings varied between 1 and 10 million. These are quite striking numbers, aren't they?

Hoping for a year full of tourists...
